Our mission is to lift up Christ on the campus community.

This is obviously easier said than done. College students are challenged every day by the current culture, professors; not to mention learning to balance studies and having a social life. We believe Chi Alpha is a place where students can grow and be successful spiritually, academically and socially. There are four things that we consider to be core values to every follower of Christ. Jesus’ life and the early church modeled each of these core values.

Being a Family

We believe that students need a place to feel safe, where they can be themselves. Here they can connect with students from all over the world and form friendships that will last a lifetime. The support, encouragement, and love they find here will help to make college one of the best experiences of their life.

“Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.” ~ Galatians 6:1-2

Promoting Authenticity

We believe in being real authentic followers of Jesus. We recognize that we don’t have it all figured out, but we are striving to be like Christ.

“‘My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by Him; for those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and he scourages every son whom he receives.’ It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons… All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.” ~ Hebrews 12:5-6 & 11

Living a Mission

We believe that students are here at Oklahoma State University for a purpose. Yes, that purpose includes academics; but we also believe that the college campus is the most strategic mission field to reach. Here we have an opportunity to impact the campus… the nation… and the world.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ~ Matthew 28:19-20

Encouraging Servant Leadership

We believe in following Jesus’ example to serve others. This form of leadership may be uncommon today, but still makes the biggest impact. When students learn to serve the campus and the community, they are learning to be better leaders.

“You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” ~ Mark 10:42-45
